Travel Purpose: business

Positive: It is a nicely renovated part of a castle. The small pool and the trampoline in the children's room were the highlights for our kids. Parking is directly in front of the house and fast internet is available throughout. Sunset and views are spectacular from the rooftop terrace. Despite of being a small town, Aubais is very alive with a lot of things going on. There are exhibits at the castle and an extremely good boulangerie within 2 mins walk. Just a few meters away is a pizzeria and the cafe at the main plaza which you can view from the house is the main gathering place for music and boccia. It is a good base for daytrips.

Negative: With everyday temperatures of above 35°C, an AC/ cooling unit is necessary. Despite having fans and airing out the rooms at night, we didn't manage to get the temperature to a comfortable level for us. The place is good and unique with a lot of potential but in order to bring it to the next level we would make the following changes: 1. Kitchen - modernise the equipments with a full set of new cutlery, plates, pots and pans, kitchen utensils etc. 2. Add an indoor family room where everyone can comfortably sit together. The daybed/sofa in the veranda was very flimsy that we couldn't sit on it for fear of breaking it. 3. Remove the locks from all the cabinets and closets to give a more welcoming feel to the guests. There is very limited space to put our things and the locks makes us feel like we are intruding on someone's property.
