The house is comfortable and convenient for a holiday stay. Don't expect luxury, but a cosy chez nous for a couple, one or two families or even a large group of friends (up to 8 persons).
The house is equipped with all the essentials:
a medium-sized kitchen with cooker, fridge, coffee machine, microwave and everything that you might require for cooking; TWO spacious double-bedrooms; one smaller single bedroom; more sleeping accommodation on the upper floors.
Adjoining the house, there is also a small courtyard for smokers and for barbecues (BBQ).

The house is situated in a picturesque medieval village with great views of the surrounding countryside and a maze of lanes and back streets to explore. From there, the ancient Cathare castles of the Black Mountains are within easy reach (10-15 minutes by car) as is the famous walled castle (La Cité) in Carcassonne (also 10-15 mins by car).
A major commercial centre with a wide variety of shops and a huge hypermarché (Carrefour) is even closer (5-7 mins by car).
The village of Conques-sur-Orbiel is a quiet and peaceful place (except during local festivals!) for a holiday with fresh air and a friendly atmosphere. Here you can have a great holiday and enjoy the real pleasure of a stay in SW France.
Near to the house, there is a bakery, a small shop, a good restaurant, a cafe/bar, a pizzeria, a municipal swimming-pool and of course a local wine cooperative!
Although there is no parking at the house (loading and unloading only), there is a free municipal car park which is 5 minutes walk away.
