Summary: We are a party of 5 adults and 4 teenagers and we had a wonderful holiday! The property is beautiful, and the grounds are absolutely amazing, with woodlands, an orchard, a lake and plenty of patio space around the house. The pool is large and was essential as we had very hot weather. The outside table is under a Wisteria which has been grown as a canopy, which is a lovely feature. Rooms are large with high ceilings, and it has the feel of a family home. Any questions or problems we had were dealt with very promptly by the friendly local man who looks after the property. There is a large barbecue which we used a lot. The oven in the property is fairly small, but there is also an electric hot plate which we found very useful. You can walk into Eymet which takes around 35-40 minutes (some of which is along the main road - not a particularly busy road but there is no pavement). Eymet is a traditional Bastide town with plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes as well as a market (and a night market in the Summer). We also visited the Duras chateau which is a short drive away, and Lac de Pombonne which is a swimming lake with a beach. Bergerac is around 40 minutes drive, but bear in mind a lot of restaurants and shops are closed on Mondays.
