Positive: The location was excellent in terms of exploring the area with many attractive places to visit within very easy driving distances. The village itself does not have many amenities, just a pub/restaurant which we didn't try but seems to have very good reputation but as everything you need is an easy car journey away this is really no disadvantage especially if you like the peace and quiet of the countryside as we do. The view from the garden was very peaceful and nice and a good place to relax and eat out in good weather. The house is homely and comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped with plenty of cutlery, utensils, serving dishes etc. Nice to have tea, coffee, biscuits and milk left for us when we arrived. The owner was also accommodating when we asked to arrive early because of the weather.
Negative: We would have appreciated having some leaflets and information about things to do in the area. The only information available seemed to be about local walks. We were unsure what to do about recycling waste and just had to put bags of stuff in the garage. Also no large bin to put waste in which seemed a bit odd.
Summary: Very comfortable cottage in an excellent location to explore the area.
