Completely unique 2 bedroom Bach nestled into an elevated hillside spot offering awe inspiring views over Kennedy Bay beach and the valley below. A property incorporating the best of coastal life as well as an immersive NZ native bush experience, which includes several est. 600 -700 year old pohutakawa trees dotted around the point beyond....
The nature of this region (largely Maori Land ownership) makes the whole Bay extremely exclusive and relatively undeveloped. There are very few, if any, properties of this calibre available here making your stay at our 'Soulfood Bach' a bucketlist must do!
The Bach has all the modern amenities expected in a high end stay, including a dishwasher, 900mm stainless 5 burner stove & oven, fisher & paykel fridge & freezer with chilled filtered spring water & ice making, Dolche coffee machine, BBQ, Washing machine in a separate laundry, cell phone coverage (Spark & Vodafone excellent, may have issues with smaller providers like skinny and 2degrees) 55' smart TV ready for hotspotting Netflix (or whatever), a wood burner fireplace to keep cozy in the winter, lovely timber outdoor dining suite on the deck, 2x kayaks and a private BRAND NEW 36 jet spa pool to enjoy at your leisure. You can also hire blokarts from the owner below at $40 per hour.
Relaxing in the super comfortable king sized bed in the master you feel like you are both on top of the world and floating over the water. You have your own wall mounted 32’ TV in the master, though you won't need it with THAT view.
A lovely private spa to relax in at night under the brilliant starry sky (due to low light pollution levels) while listening to the waves crashing, surrounded by nature sounds. In the morning watch the early morning mist rise from the bay below while enjoying a hot cup of coffee and listening to the native bird song.
A short 3min stroll to the beach (follow the signs) opens up your exploration adventures either down the beach or around the rocks (parapara) up the hill to the extremely impressive blow hole. This entire area is considered quite tapu (sacred) to our people so tread with care and respect. If you’re really keen carry on over the blow hole to the next virtually untouched private beach Ohau for a picnic under the pohutakawa trees.
The water to the bach is a combination of spring water and rain water (filtered), so is chlorine and fluoride free and tastes like water was intended to taste, smell and feel.
The perfect spot for a romantic getaway, a small family adventure weekend, a city stress escape (only 3 hours from Auckland and Hamilton). The 2nd bedroom has lovely king single bunk bed for the kids.
All linens & towels are included in the nightly rate.
Your own food is required, with the nearest town being Coromandel Town, 20mins away over the hill.
