A charming 1 bedroom retreat just a 5 minute walk from the Petworth Metro for easy access to all that DC offers — including just an 11 minute metro ride to the National Mall. Enjoy a full kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and comfy living space in the English basement of a historic DC row home. Restaurants and stores within a 10-minute walk.
There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a full size sleeper sofa in the living room. The living room has a 50” Roku TV and lift-up coffee table with board games inside. There is an in-unit washer and dryer you are free to use, with laundry pods provided. There is a full kitchen stocked with the essentials including a French press, kettle, and Keurig-style coffee machine with coffee pods. The bathroom has a handheld shower head and extra towels (OEKO-TEX certified). The bedroom has a desk and comfy chair, and there is a two-seat dining table in the living area.
*This is an English basement, so you may hear footsteps, occasional barking from our small dog, and other muffled noises since we live upstairs. Taller guests should be aware of a 6’ beam running through the apartment, as visible in photos. The ceilings are otherwise 82” high.*
There is a two-person dining set on the back patio that is yours to use. We and/or our small dog are occasionally in and out of the back outdoor space.
With amazing metro access just a 5 minute walk away, you won’t need a car to get around and see DC! If you do have a car, though, we have both free off-street and on-street parking. Off-street parking is available via the alley in the rear but requires entering the unit first to open the wooden gate. There is also easy street parking in front of the house — we are pretty much always easily able to find a spot on our street. If you would like to street park (for free), please send us the make, model, color, and license plate/state of your car at least 72 hours before your arrival so we can register you for a parking pass. If you will have a rental or otherwise won’t have access to your vehicle information in advance, just let us know. A street parking pass is available for 1 car.
