The Kufstein Easter Market is one of the most memorable culinary and cultural markets in Austria. The picturesque setting in the snowy mountains of Tirol will boost the character and charm of this market.
For two days the fortress city of Kufsteinerland transforms into a culinary haven filled with local delicacies. A visit to this market is not complete when you do not eat the local delicacy ‘Kiachl’. This is a fried pastry covered with powdered sugar. The Easter bunny’s on the market might treat your children with some eastern eggs, or you might want to watch the funny street theater while you are eating cotton candy.
It is not just about the food at the Kufstein Easter Market. This is also the place to learn more about traditional handicrafts and to watch the local craftsmen at work. You are welcome to paint your handicraft and Easter eggs. If you love shopping and markets this is the place to be. You can buy a new dress, local sweets, aromatic candles, eastern ornaments or a lovely souvenir.

The birthday of Rome will be celebrated on the 21st of April, this year the city will be 2774 years old! Legend says that Romulus & Remus founded the city of Rome in 753 BC on a small hill near current Rome. After that the city quickly evolved into the famous capital of the Roman Empire, this date has been celebrated ever since.
These days the annual celebration of the birthday of Rome is still a big event. You can enjoy impressive parades, historical shows, and FREE entrance to the museums.
One of the events during the birthday of Rome is a beauty contest to become Rome’s Goddess of the year. But the main event is a historical parade. From all over Europe people will come to re-enact and dress like historical Romans to put on an incredible show. The parade ends with spectacular gladiator performances.
It is not all about parades and Roman characters. During the festivities ‘old’ Roman dishes, like stews and veal, are served around the city. You can find most of the events around the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

The Great Roman Games is an event which is held annually in the city of Nîmes, France. The Roman Empire extended all the way to France and included the city of Nîmes. Nîmes is a well-preserved example of a Roman Empire city and therefore a good backdrop for the Great Roman Games.
From all around Europe people will visit the city of Nîmes to re-enact ancient Roman times. Most of the games are held around the historical amphitheater, which is a remarkable example of Roman architecture. Inside the theater, you can see a spectacle of carriage races, gladiator fights, and great battles. It is a truly magnificent sight to see the more than 500 reenactors run around the amphitheater.
The Great Roman Games extend far outside the amphitheater walls. You can visit an ancient Roman fashion show or learn how to use ancient weaponry. While you are in Nîmes make sure to visit the museum ‘La Romanite’ about the Roman Empire.
You can book the tickets to see the games inside the amphitheater online. Be quick to make sure you’re able to visit them on one of the three days of the event.
